Chutes For Foreign Coins
Monarch produces coin chutes for a wide range of coins. Not all coins of all nations are acceptable. Coins must be round. Odd shaped coins are not usually acceptable (example: East Caribbean States One Dollar cannot be accommodated). The minting of the coins should hold tight tolerances. Most mints around the world make very precise coins, but some allow their coins to be produced with an unacceptably wide tolerance.
In some cases, combinations of coins in one chute are acceptable. For example, the Australian One Dollar coin and 20 cent coins may be combined in a chute of 4 x 4 capacity, allowing price settings from 20 cents to four dollars and eighty cents. This is not possible for all coins. The determining factor is the size of the coins relative to each other.
Other considerations involve coins from neighboring countries, or even other coins, past or present within the country which are close to the same size as the coin to be accepted. When Monarch is aware of possible conflicts, we try to eliminate acceptance of the undesirable coin, but when the mechanical properties of the coins are the same, that is, the diameter and the thickness are similar, then we cannot assure that all undesirable coins may be eliminated.

We have produced our token chutes for many countries where the coins are not acceptable or where the currency stability or inflation is a problem. This creates a separate "Currency" for transactions between the user and the operator, wherein the relative value is determined by the situation at any given time.
