Coin Mechanisms For HM5 Meter HousingThere are two basic coin mechanisms from which to choose. The mechanisms are interchangeable in the HM5 Housing, so alterations can be made in the future by replacing only the coin mechanism. Coin mechanisms are secured from the inside of the meter housing by means of a special mounting bolt, which is only accessible when the service door (at the end of the meter opposite the coin chute) has been unlocked and removed.Drop mechanisms are used only in the HM6 Meter Hosuing. ![]() The Model 444 is a single coin or token mechanism. It is the primary acceptor for the use of Monarch's special security tokens. Accepts coins from the size of a dime up to and including the Canadian $1 Loonie. The units are simple, rugged, and easy to maintain. ![]() The Vertical Eight accepts up to 8 coins. The price can to be adjusted in the field. It can be produced for a wide range of coins, from 16mm up to 27mm in diameter. It may also be made to accept conventional round arcade tokens. It is available in a premium version which accepts one special token, which will override whatever price the other seven slots are set to accept.
This list is not exhaustive, but illustrates the range. Coins 16 mm to 28.5 mm in diameter, and up to 4.7 mm thick can be accommodated. Combinations of denominations are possible for some coins.
