Q: WHAT kind of products does MONARCH offer the coin laundry industry?
A: Monarch manufacturers the push/pull style of coin and token acceptors and the coin boxes which are used in all major brands of coin or token operated laundry machines. We also have some of the ancillary parts associated with these, such as the mounting bolts, Whirlpool Switch Kits, tokens, decals, operating extensions, service door locks, even a toilet lock to secure your bathrooms. We distribute the Soap Vendor from Vend-Rite and we have a line of heavy duty security guards, small guards for use on the machines. WE DO NOT DISTRIBUTE THE MACHINES THEMSELVES!

Q: I want to convert a domestic machine to coin operation. What must I do?
A: This may not be the best answer for you. It CAN be done, but there are some high costs and some problems with doing this. Please take a moment to read through the information on CONVERTING DOMESTIC MACHINES TO COIN OPERATION

Q: I must replace the locks in my coin boxes. What is involved?
A: First, to replace just the locks in existing boxes can be a problem. If the locks are Greenwald Sentinel or Rampart, you cannot just replace the locks. Those locks are obsolete and nothing currently available will swap out with them. You MUST replace the whole box. Secondly, you MUST replace the locks with the same kind of lock. That is, if the boxes have tubular locks, you must replace them with tubular locks, if they are the half moon type of key you must use the half moon locks and so on. And if you are trying to replace the locks in a Greenwald or an ESD box, we cannot assure that the assembly will go well. During production different spacers are incorporated in the product according to what lock is being used. In changing things about, you may wind up with boxes that bind or are too loose. This may be a case where saving money may cost you more in the long run. To save aggravation, replace the entire box.

Q: I need new coin boxes. What must I do?
A: To assure you get the correct coin box, please see the information on Guardian Boxes and Jewel Boxes Keep in mind that boxes vary in appearance, but that even though the box you have appears to be a Guardian,(in other words you may have a Greenwald Ultra-guard) the Jewel box will still fit your Speed Queen for example. The boxes may have flat fronts, or bubble nose or some other configuration, but all three brands will interchange. IF YOUR BOX HAS AN ENAMELED FACE THEN IT WILL NOT TAKE ANY OF THE STANDARD COIN BOXES. Older Maytag boxes are an example. The box will use a lock and shaft assembly or have a disc cam on the back. We can help you replace the locks and/or shafts, but the box itself is a product the original manufacturer and only available through them or their distributor, or in some cases for older machines, they are not available at all. You can order online at http://coinoperatedproducts.com/ but it is Imperative you know what you are ordering or you may incur a restocking fee.

Q: I have some strange tokens that I cannot identify nor know where to get them. What can I do?
A: We offer some odd shaped tokens that work only in our Model 444. Some of these are proprietary and not available everywhere. Please see the information on Specialty Tokens for more information.

Q: I need keys for my washers and dryers. Where can I get them?
A: The first thing is “DO YOU KNOW THE KEY CODE?” Without that information, no one can help you. Some keys are marked with a code; others have nothing at all on them. Medeco keys have numbers that may refer to the style of the key but do not have the key code. If you do not know the number then you will have to do some research to find it, or will have to replace the locks. Other than the tubular style of keys, the keys used on coin operated laundry equipment are proprietary to the original maker of the coin box. Please see REPLACEMENT KEYS NOTE, Greenwald keys are only available from a Greenwald Distributor and ESD keys will respond to requests for their keys if you fax them on your letterhead and send it to a special toll free number, 888-ESD-KEYS.

Q: I have to raise the prices on my washers and dryers. How do I do this?
A: If the Chutes are Greenwald or ESD you will have to consult their website. If it is one of the Monarch Vertical Chutes, then we have instructions at PRICE CHANGE INSTRUCTIONS

Q: Can I order on-line?
A: You can visit http://coinoperatedproducts.com/. Coin boxes, coin/token chutes and the Universal Coin/Token Operated Door Lock are available. We will be adding other products soon!

Q: I need to get more than $2.00 from my machines, but the chutes only go up to 8 quarters. What can I do?
A: We offer a “Customized” Vertical that will accept up to 15 quarters. The Vertical 15 will fit where any Vertical 8 will fit. The Vertical 16 will go up to $4.00. See Information on this chute at Vertical 16.

Q: Vandalism is KILLING me!! What can I do?
A: There is only so much that can be done. A determined attack by someone with heavy tools will get into any machine. We do offer some security items to help slow them down. See Security Guards/Coin Box GuardsSecurity Guards/Full Body Armor.

Q: How long does it take to have an order shipped?
A: Most items ship in 24 to 48 hours! Small orders placed early in the day often ship that afternoon. Orders requiring special attention, such as matching a lock code may take longer. Of course, very large orders may take up to several weeks. NOTE – Orders for the Token/Coin Operated Restroom lock may take up to two weeks to ship. Please check on lead time when ordering.

Q: How do I get a coin box open if I don’t have a key?
A: For obvious security reasons, we do not answer these kind of questions on an open public forum. Call us, and once you convince us that your need is honest and reasonable, we may be able to offer suggestions.

Q: I am interested in using tokens in my Laundry equipment. What is involved?
A: The answer to this revolves around a number of things. Please read through the customer support page, “Why Use Tokens?” Click Here to view it.

Q: Someone else does my collections. How can I monitor how many cycles the machine has done?
A: We have cycle counters for some machines. There is an electro-mechanical counter that can be wired in. See Cycle Counters

Q: I want to take tokens and quarters in the same machine. How can I do that?
A: It is not legal to make a token the same size as a quarter. But we do produce a chute that will accept up to 7 quarters, and the remaining slot is dedicated to a token that will override whatever price the chute is set for. This is ideal for wash and fold operations or to offer special discounts, refunds, etc. see more at Token Quarter Combo

Q: I have old Maytags with the Maytag Vertical Five. How can I make it take more than $1.25?
A: You can put a Vertical Eight in these machines BUT you will have to do some work. We have put together a small instruction sheet to detail what you must do. CLICK HERE FOR INSTRUCTIONS

Q: What coins or tokens can the timer accept?
A: The coin acceptors can be made to accept any number of different coins or tokens, BUT whatever coin it is made for, that is what it will take and nothing else. They cannot be changed to a different coin in the field. Acceptors have been made for Coins of many nations. Please call us to discuss your needs.

Q: I have very old machines which have the lay-down style coin acceptor that take 2 (or 3 or 4) quarters. Where can I get replacement chutes like this?
A: YOU CAN’T ! We were the last to make these kinds of chutes. We made the last ones in 1996, so they are quite obsolete!! However, a vertical coin chute will fit in that same opening.

Q: Where do I send units for repair?
A: YOU DON’T!! YOU MUST CALL FOR A RETURN AUTHORIZATION NUMBER! AT THAT POINT YOU WILL BE PROVIDED WITH THE INFORMATION ON HOW TO RETURN A PRODUCT Packages received without an RMA number will be returned to sender at your cost.

Q: I have tokette chutes. Where can I buy these?
A: Monarch produces the acceptors for the 2 styles of Tokette. These are tokens that are broken as they are accepted and so cannot be reused. You can order over the phone or online at CoinOperatedProducts.com. Call to order tokette tokens. To see information on the chutes, CLICK HERE

Q: Why are prices not posted?
A: You can visit CoinOperatedProducts.com. This will give you pricing and complete order information For pricing on our other products listed in our catalog, please call.

Q: What is the minimum order?
A: The minimum became $50.00 per order. The amount is for product only, shipping is not a part of the minimum. When ordering tokens only, the minimum order is 200 pieces of any one style.
